Opening
Autumn 2026
Just outside Berlin, a parallel world unfolds within the historic sanatorium. The former bathhouse of the Beelitz Sanatorium is flooded with light and sound.
A brick building surrounded by nature. Tall arched windows. Light dances across the walls, reflecting off the tiles. Every step sets something in motion. Then the domed hall opens up. The space begins to transform.
The bathhouse at the Beelitz Sanatorium is part of the workers’ sanatorium for lung diseases, built around 1900 (and the largest historic hospital complex in the Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan region). It is an imposing, palatial building: with five-meter-high ceilings and every patient room facing south. Sunlight was the medicine.
Today, light is once again flooding into the space.
After years of neglect, the building will be revitalized as a venue for media art starting in the fall of 2026. Artists will create large-scale works combining light, projection, and sound that directly engage with the historic architecture, overlaying, disrupting, and transforming it.
Through multimedia and interactive installations and immersive interventions, NEBULA opens up a parallel world.
